Girls Varsity Lacrosse wins in a comeback against Academic Magnet 9-8
After dropping the first two games of the season, the Seahawks earned their first win Friday night in North Charleston against Academic Magnet. Led by senior Victoria Glover’s 5 goals and 3 ground balls, the Seahawks overcame a 6-8 deficit late in the game to win 9-8. Freshman Sharon Urbina scored 3 goals, with two coming during the late game rally, and sophomore Sarah Kate Shupp rounded out the scoring with 1 goal. Anna Ferrebee came up with two of her 3 draw controls late in the game to gain key possessions and help secure the win. The defense was anchored by goalies Brook Simons (4 saves) and Megan Rickenbach (2 saves).
The Seahawks take on May River at home next Wednesday, March 11 at 7pm.
