For the second time in as many meetings the Seahawks offense failed to take off against Bobcats pitching resulting in defeat, this time by a score of 11-0. Bluffton jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after their first at bat on the strength of three solid hits, including doubles by Ryan and Rose. Defensive miscues plagued the Seahawks in the second and third innings as the Bobcats plated seven additional runs all but two of them unearned. That was more than enough for Ray as she continued her mastery of the Seahawks bats, allowing only two hits while striking out eleven and walking only one.

Delcie Swift battled on the rubber for Hilton Head, yielding five hits over her three innings of work, three of which coming in the first inning. Only five of the ten runs charged to her were earned. Shaina Lugo was also pinned with an unearned run through defensive miscues, but pitched one inning of no-hit ball, striking out three. Leah Jackson continued her early success at the plate with a line drive single, and Delcie Swift singled to right field. Unfortunately those represented the extent of the offensive threats for Hilton Head.

The Lady Seahawks will attempt to molt their way out of their early season travails on Monday, March 22nd, as they host Colleton County at 6pm.
